I offer training as well as consignment. I will work with any and all breeds! However, I do NOT work with dangerous or aggressive horses. I offer groundwork, colt starting, barrel work, sale prep, and tune-ups. I offer training in 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, and 120 days. Please visit my pricing page for more information on pricing. I have a wonderful sponsor who sponsors my training business. Simpson Leather creates wonderful, quality, hand-made leather tack, ranging from dog collars to tack sets! Please contact me for more information or see their page.
Although this is classified as colt starting, I accept any age horse between the ages of 2 and 20 years old. I also accept any breed, height, etc. for this type of training. Colt starting is available in 30, 60, and 90 days, although I typically recommend at least 60 days for colt starting. The horse must be physically and mentally prepared for training, meaning I won't accept underweight or starved horses, or horses who have previous trauma. While colt starting, I teach:
My groundwork training program is completely customizable and is open to all ages, breeds, heights, etc including young fillies and colts(6 months and up), or older rescue horses. This is commonly used as a precursor or "prep" before sending the horse to be saddle broke. Groundwork is only available in 30 days. Groundwork includes but is not limited to:
I offer barrel work for horses who have had at least 90 days of riding under saddle. I prefer the horse to be loping circles, neck reining, and yielding to leg pressure, however I am happy to teach anything that is not known. I emphasize slow work, and prioritize the basics before I add speed. I have quality ground to work barrels in year round. Barrel work includes but is not limited to:
My sale prep program will utilize the time available to get the horse fit and at a healthy weight, with good muscle, and good skin and coat condition. Sale prep is only available in 30 days. Included in sale prep is:
Tune-ups are for horses who have previously been ridden, but have had time off. The horse must be in correct physical and mental condition to start training, they must not be underweight. The horse also cannot have had any dangerous or aggressive habits when being ridden or since he/she has had time off. Tune-ups come in 30, 60, and 90 days. Tune-ups consist of the same training that colt starting consists of, with the possibility to pursue certain areas of training more depending on the horse and owner.
